Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Annals of Clinical and Biomedical Science Research (ACBSR) aims to improve the practice of all aspects of medicine and health care in general. To achieve these objectives, the journal publishes original scientific articles, reviews, clinical case reports, research results and letters in health sciences and related disciplines. The journal is dedicated to serving scientists who desire to publish their research findings in view of contribute to global health.

This information guides authors on the preparation, submission of manuscripts to ACBSR. These instructions comply with those formulated by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). The complete document appears at http://www.icmje.org (http://www.icmje.org/). All authors should carefully read following guidelines prior to submission.

General Requirements

  1. All articles, reviews and reports should be written in English Language.
  2. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  3. Use of a referencing management tool such as Zotero, Mendeley, or EndNote for reference management and formatting, and choose Vancouver style
  4. The manuscript is prepared using ACBSR article template. The submission file should be both in word and pdf.
  5. The manuscript file should not contain any image, figures or tables. All tables, figures or images should be placed in a separate file with appropriate captions placed within the text at the appropriate points (Example: Table 1, Figure 1, etc.).

Structure of the Manuscript

The manuscript must be prepared in the following structure:-

  1. Title
  2. Authors and Affiliations
  3. Keywords
  4. Abstract
  5. Introduction
  6. Methodology
  7. Results
  8. Discussion
  9. Conclusion
  10. Acknowledgement
  11. References

Title

  1. Should be specific to the study without Acronym or abbreviation
  2. Should be written in Arial, size 14, centered

Author Affiliations

  1. This section include the first names, middle name and surnames.
  2. Affiliations (university or organization), department, city, state/province (if applicable), and country for all authors.
  3. The institution/laboratory where the work was conducted should be indicated.
  4. One of the authors should be designated as the corresponding author. The contact details including address, telephone and email address for the corresponding author should be provided.
  5. The corresponding author is the primary contact for the journal office and the only author able to view or change the manuscript while it is under editorial consideration.
  6. Only one corresponding author can be designated in the submission system.

Key words:          The author(s) must provide 3 to 6 keywords.

Abstract

  1. The Abstract should be no more than 300 WORDS.
  2. In abstract, citations, table and other abbreviations should be avoided.
  3. The abstract should be structured containing: Background (2-3 Sentences), Methodology (2-3 Sentences), and Results (Minimal 8 Sentences), and the Conclusions (2-3 Sentences).

Introduction

The introduction describes the broader context of the manuscript and allows readers outside the field to understand the purpose and significance of the study. A brief review of the key literature relevant to the study area should be mentioned, including relevant controversies or disagreements of the manuscript field if necessary. Define the problem addressed and why it is important. Finally, the introduction should be concluded with a brief statement of the overall aim of the study.

Methodology

This section should include the design of the study, the setting, the type of participants or materials involved, as well as a description of all interventions and comparisons. The authors should also provide a description of the type of statistical analysis used. When referencing a manufacturer with reagents or equipment used, the city and country where the manufacturer is located should also be provided.

Ethical Committee Approval

All articles dealing with original human or animal data must include a statement on ethics approval at the beginning of the Methods section. This paragraph must contain the following information: the name and address of the ethics committee responsible; the protocol number that was attributed by this ethics committee; and the date of approval by the ethics committee.

Results

The results section should describe the key findings, be written in detail and in past tense to support the conclusions made in the manuscript. For more clarity, this section may be divided into subsections, each with a concise subheading and written in clear and concise language. Where appropriate, these sections should describe statistical analysis of relative/absolute risks and confidence analysis. The raw data may be submitted as supporting files for publication as supplementary appendices.

 Discussion

Authors should explain in the discussion section how results and key findings relate to the hypothesis presented as the basis of the study and provide a succinct explanation of the implications of the findings, particularly in relation to previous related studies and potential future directions for research. When appropriate, issues related to resource limitations faced by the researchers during the course of the study, how these were addressed, and suggestions for improvement may also be included.

Conclusion

The manuscript should clearly describe the main conclusions of the study. Suggestions for further key experiments for future work can be included in the conclusion section. Summary illustrations may be included.

Acknowledgments

Those who contributed to the work but do not meet our authorship criteria should be listed in the Acknowledgments with a description of the contribution.

References

ACBSR uses Vancouver style. All available works can be cited in the reference list, including published, accepted and preprints articles providing the manuscript has a citable DOI/ISSN or URL. References are listed at the end of the manuscript and numbered in the order that they appear in the text. In the text citation, cite the reference number in square brackets.

Make sure the parts of the manuscript are in the correct order before ordering the citations. ACBSR recommends the use of referencing software such as Zotero, which is Free for download at www.zotero.org (http://www.zotero.org/).

References in the body of the text should be chronological and identified by Arabic numerals in square brackets, e.g. Specific point mutations in naturally resistant laboratory isolates of P. falciparum [4, 5].

Figures, legends and tables should be professionally done and glossy print photographs (black and white) prepared from them (the original art work is not required). The prints should be 75x100mm minimum and 125x175mm maximum.

Case Reports:

Case reports are welcome, however, the reason for presenting them must be clearly stated, particularly their critical significance in clinical practice. Case reports must be authentic, adequately and appropriately illustrated and the identity of any individual concealed according to ethical requirements. They must not be more than one thousand five hundred (1500) words which includes a succinct, informative prose summary of not more than one hundred (100) words.

Submission of Paper to the Journal:

Anyone who submits a paper for publication must provide the following:

  1. A letter of submission.
  2. A soft copy of the manuscript.
  3. Written permission from authors whose copyright material has been used in the manuscript.
  4. Informed consent from participants whose photographs have been used.
  5. A payment receipt for the manuscript processing fee.

A signed copyright statement following the example below:

I/We give guarantee that the content of the manuscript is original and is not currently considered for publication by another journal.
